Decent enough muzzle, needs a lot of fixes with daily use

I bought this muzzle for my large pony mare (wears a size Small Weaver halter). Pros: - good fit for her; wouldn't expect it to fit a standard size horse- no rubs - doesn't impede her eating at all- hasn't come off yet.Cons: - the rivets pop off constantly. 2/3rds of my muzzle is held together with baling twine after two months. - the leather stretches (which leather does, but this does pretty oddly) - it is bulky, and it gets whacked on things pretty often.

Runs very small - pony size

There is no chance that this is going to fit an average horse. My mare is 15.2 with an average size head. The leather strap that goes behind the ears was about three inches too short. The throat latch was snug. I tried it on a 12 hand pony. It fit the pony well. If your horse is large than a pony, I recommend passing on this grazing muzzle. I have no idea whether this muzzle works well since I am returning it.
