This saddle FIRST of all, has a GREAT price point. I'm used to riding in Custom, County, Prestige, CWD, Black Country, Kieffer etc... all $3000 + saddles for dressage (i'm an eventer). I was a bit skeptical about this saddle but decided to give it a try and boy am i happy i did! Its very well balanced, fits my wide 16 hh APHA mare (confirmed 1st level dressage) very well. I ride with a ICP level 2 instructor and she's a huge fan of it as well. The leather is a little stiff at first but i'm sure will (and already has) soften up and be strong enough to handle multiple rides a day 5+ days a week (i'm also a groom). I have a custom WISE AIR monoflap for XC/Stadium ($4600 new) so I don't skimp on saddles generally but this saddle has become the envy of everyone with far more expensive dressage saddles at the barn! I'm 5'8 with longish legs and this fits me great. We had a 5'10 teenage student with legs for miles try it and it fit her leg very well too. If you are on a budget and want a well fitting, wool flocked, great balanced saddle then branch out and get this one!
The flap leather and billets are a bit stiff at first but thats already starting to change after only a month of light use (horses being on "vacation" in the off season).
I have also become a fan of the pro-trainer softy, nylon lined leathers, have them for my dressage saddle and jump saddle after my $165 prestiges gave out after 4 years of HEAVY use. I think thornhill/pro-trainer is doing a huge service to the equestrian community offering super quality products at a realistic price for most people.
