Low port bits are often used for broke, gentle ponies or horses. The mild mouthpiece is used with curb bits or grazing bits. Low port mouthpieces are also used with different styles of loose shank bits. Mouthpieces are made of stainless steel, copper or chrome. Low port bits are available with plain shanks, engraved shanks, aluminum shanks or silver trimmed over black steel or antique brown finishes.
