I should have gotten a 9 1/2 – my shoe size is a 9 1/2 or 10 and I decided to order the larger because I wanted to be able to put in an insole for comfort and figured it would accommodate thick socks during colder rides, as well. With very thick socks and an insole, the foot is still roomier than I need, and the widest part of the calf is kind of bulgy, just like it looks in the catalog image. I also find the ankle a bit baggy, and immediately above the ankle and the top of the boot snug. So the shape is a little weird, at least on my leg, but considering that I got this boot, once all the discounts were applied, for $67, I am not really complaining.
It is relatively comfortable, and looks well-constructed for durability, and is perfectly attractive. It would be nice if the fake loop on the outside weren’t completely fake and sewn on top to bottom, but that’s a pretty small criticism.
I can recommend this boot, especially if you have a muscular calf and thick ankle. If not, I still think it’s worth the sale price, although I would have returned it had I paid full price.
