Hug Blankets have been designed with overlapping chest panels that close with long, adjustable (up to 5") elastic straps. These unique blanket straps are sturdy, yet they allow the horse to move his neck and shoulders without binding at the withers. And without buckles at the chest, the point of the shoulder doesnt rub against the blanket, so no rub marks.

Question:What are your instructions for finding the correct size?
- Asked by Vicki F on 10/17/2023
Answer: 1. Decide where you want the sheet or blanket to end. Some people prefer the tail portion to be long enough to form a tent over the top of the horses tail, especially for turnout coverings. Others prefer to have horse sheets and blankets stop just short of the tail.2. Stand your horse squarely on level ground.3. Measure from the center of your horses chest (where the base of the neck meets the chest) over the point of his shoulder, to the point at which you want the sheet or blanket to end. A soft fabric tape measure with inch increments works well for this. 4. The inches measurement translates to the blanket size you should try on your horse.

I like the stretchiness when my horse puts her head down to eat.

Love Hugs blankets and got this one at a great price! My horse has big shoulders and is constantly tearing them at that point, even blankets with generous pleats at the shoulder. This brand of blanket eliminates that pressure point.
