Used to create a 'child-sized' lunge line.

Just the right item to create a custom-length lunge line for my kids to use with their Shetland pony. A shorter line will be easier for the little kids to handle than my 'grown-up' lunge lines. With the purchase of an additional snap and the use of my sewing machine, the kiddos have a kid-sized line that is exactly like mom's! This is also perfect for replacing a stopper, or turning a standard lunge line with a 'loop' handle into line with a stoppered line, which I plan to do with the other two I ordered. I prefer to drop the 'extra end' of my lunge line in the middle of my circle while I walk a small circle in line with the horse. The heavy stopper helps to keep the line put in the middle of that circle, so the extra doesn't become an entanglement issue; nor will it blow around in heavy wind. (Don't worry folks! So long as the stopper stays in the middle, and you always hold the line in front of you as you walk FORWARD, you'll never get the line tangled up in your feet. I've perfected this method over the last 27 years working with horses, and it's far less dangerous than all the beginners I see that are 'walking backwards' to get space away from their horse that won't walk FORWARD on the lunge circle.)

This is exactly what I was looking for so I could make my own lunge lines. Firm material, feels very sturdy. There’s a indent on one side to fit the loop of the fabric which I love!
