The synthetic apple-flavored mouthpiece is readily accepted by most horses and is lighter and thinner than rubber. A standard single jointed mouthpiece provides control by collapsing onto the horse's tongue and bars when pressure is applied to the reins. Loose ring style cheekpieces discourage the horse from leaning on the bit and assist the horse in learning self carriage. This bit is legal for most dressage classes.
