Originally bred by Romani travelers in Ireland and Great Britain to pull caravans, these hardy horses are known for their strength, kindness, and striking presence. Kate embodies all of these qualities and more: she has amassed an extraordinary 56 Supreme Grand Champion titles, excelling in-hand, in harness, and under both English and Western saddles. Outside of the show ring, she loves to offer kisses and has even served as a therapy horse! Also a valued broodmare, Kate has produced foals that have gone on to become National Champions in their own right.
Kate was bred by Dennis and Cindy Thompsons Gypsy Gold Farm, the importer of the first Vanner horses to America in 1996. Kate is a treasured mare as her grandsire, The Gypsy King, was one of the Thompsons sixteen original imports who also had his own Breyer portrait model produced in the year 2000. Kates charisma and winning personality have made her a shining star among these beautiful horses.
