Safe-Guard (fenbendazole) Paste 10% is a trusted equine dewormer from Merck Animal Health, formulated for effective control of key internal parasites in horses. Each gram contains 100 mg of fenbendazole, with an appealing artificial apple-cinnamon flavor that horses readily accept.

Key Benefits:

Dosage and Administration:
Administer orally. Standard dose for control of large strongyles, small strongyles, and pinworms: 2.3 mg/lb (5 mg/kg) body weight one 25g syringe treats up to 1,100 lb horse.
For foals and weanlings (under 18 months) targeting ascarids: 4.6 mg/lb (10 mg/kg) one syringe treats up to 550 lb horse.
For encysted cyathostome larvae and fourth-stage S. vulgaris larvae: 4.6 mg/lb (10 mg/kg) daily for 5 consecutive days one syringe per 550 lb body weight per day.
Consult your veterinarian for parasite diagnosis, treatment, and control recommendations. Safe for use with approved trichlorfon for stomach worms (Gasterophilus spp.) follow trichlorfon label instructions.

Safety and Precautions:
High safety margin demonstrated in studies (no side effects at single doses up to 1,000 mg/kg or 15 daily doses of 50 mg/kg). Rare hypersensitive reactions may occur from dying parasites releasing antigens treat symptomatically if observed. The 5-day regimen at 10 mg/kg has not been evaluated for safety in pregnant mares or stallions.
Do not use in horses intended for human consumption (not for food-producing animals). Keep out of reach of children. Store at or below 77F in original container.
