The Stubben Steeltec Double Jointed Full Cheek Snaffle Bit is a popular choice with hunter riders. The full cheek allows for avery slight leverage and the double joint alleviates the "nut cracker" effect of single joint bits.
Benefits of a Full Cheek bit:
- Long and extended arms above and below the mouthpiece have a good lateral guiding effect which enhance the response of the horse on the outside rein when riding bends and circles.
- Very mild leverage effect. Bit keeps increase it slightly by keeping the bit more firmly in place in the mouth.
- Especially good for young horse or using on the the lunge line as the sides keep the bit from pulling through the mouth in any way.
